Job summary

The Manager, Governance position at Inuvialuit Regional Corporation (IRC) is based in Inuvik and reports to the Chief Legal Officer. It coordinates corporate governance processes, supports board and committee operations, and maintains governance records to ensure timely, accurate decision-making.

Preference is given to candidates with Indigenous governance understanding, five years of governance experience, and relevant credentials.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in business administration, governance, legal studies, public administration or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of governance, legal administration, corporate records, or board and committee operations experience.
  • Working knowledge of Indigenous governance practices and governance context.
  • Strong organizational, written communication, judgement, discretion and relationship-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and administer corporate governance processes and board/committee operations.
  • Prepare timely, accurate governance materials and records.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable requirements and follow-up on governance actions.
  • Provide governance support to IRC entities and community corporations with attention to Indigenous governance practices.
