Since 1946, our relentless commitment to these values has helped us challenge the status quo and break down barriers. We’ve made bold commitments to become net-zero by 2040 across all mortgages and loans, and we’re actively pursuing strategies in Indigenous banking and financial resilience for our members.

Your Role in Supporting Our Members:

As a Governance Consultant, you will be responsible for executing and maintaining governance processes, reporting, and documentation that support the effective operation of Vancity’s Regulatory Compliance function. You will coordinate governance activities, support compliance oversight processes, maintain governance records and repositories, and ensure governance forums receive accurate, timely, and structured information. This role plays an important part in ensuring governance activities are delivered consistently, documentation remains audit-ready, and compliance stakeholders are supported with high-quality governance reporting and oversight. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with strong coordination, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

This is a Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance Operations. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Developing and maintaining governance artifacts including committee agendas, minutes, action logs, reporting templates, and documentation repositories
  • Coordinating governance processes including committee cycles, reporting deadlines, issue tracking activities, and action follow-up
  • Producing and consolidating governance reporting to ensure information is accurate, complete, and clearly structured
  • Tracking regulatory compliance issues, action items, and deliverables to support timely follow-up and escalation where required
  • Supporting the preparation of materials for management and governance forums by gathering, validating, and organizing inputs from stakeholders
  • Maintaining governance documentation standards and ensuring governance records remain current and audit-ready
  • Identifying opportunities to improve governance processes, reporting quality, documentation practices, and repository management
  • Collaborating with compliance and business stakeholders to support effective oversight and governance activities

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Risk Management, Governance, Compliance, Law, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in governance, compliance, risk management, audit, corporate administration, or a related field
  • Experience supporting governance committees, management forums, regulatory oversight activities, or control frameworks
  • Strong experience preparing reports, meeting materials, governance documentation, and executive-level presentations
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and governance cycles
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality documentation and records
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse stakeholder groups
  • Experience working in a regulated environment or supporting compliance, risk, or governance programs

Extra Skills That Set You Apart:

  • Experience within financial services, banking, credit unions, or other highly regulated industries
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks, governance practices, and audit readiness requirements
  • Professional designation such as CPHR, CIA, CRMA, CAMS, CRCM, or equivalent

You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:

  • Organized – You excel at coordinating multiple activities, deadlines, and stakeholders while maintaining high-quality outputs.
  • Detail-Oriented – You take pride in producing accurate documentation, reporting, and governance records.
  • Collaborative – You build strong working relationships and effectively support stakeholders across the organization.
  • Accountable – You take ownership of deliverables and consistently follow through on commitments.
  • Continuous Improvement Focused – You look for ways to improve governance processes, reporting quality, and operational effectiveness.

We value lived experience, so if you are interested in this role, we encourage you to apply even if you feel your skills don't perfectly align with those listed.
