DECIEM, The Abnormal Beauty Company, is seeking a Director of Regulatory Affairs - Packaging Compliance & Packaging Creation - Global to lead our global packaging regulatory strategy. You will ensure compliance across EU, US and Canada, and partner across Regulatory, Sustainability, Sourcing, Quality, R&D, Design, Brand, and Commercial teams.

This three-day-in-office hybrid role is based in Liberty Village, Toronto, offering a chance to shape packaging policy and drive sustainable packaging

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Regulatory Affairs with global packaging regulatory expertise.
• Deep knowledge of packaging materials, EPR, sustainability requirements.
• Proven experience leading high-performing teams and cross-functional partnerships.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead global Packaging Compliance and Packaging Creation across EU, US, Canada.
• Develop and implement packaging documentation standards and clearance requirements.
• Partner cross-functionally with Regulatory, Sustainability, Sourcing, Quality, R&D, Design, Brand, and Commercial teams.
• Oversee packaging creation and approvals for launches, reformulations, sizes, expansions.
• Monitor global packaging regulations and translate into actionable requirements (PPWR, EPR, recycled content, labeling).
• Lead the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program, including reporting and audits.
• Onboard new packaging materials and assess standards.
• Establish governance frameworks, SOPs, training for packaging compliance.
• Engage with external regulators, industry bodies, and vendors.
• Lead and develop Packaging teams.
