About the role
As the Global Health & Safety Manager, you will provide leadership, direction, a standardised framework and set the priorities on Health & Safety. Influence, train and coach Leaders and Managers to engage and lead a ‘mind-set’ change on Health & Safety and deliver a robust Health & Safety strategy across the business.

You will oversee the Devro and SARIA Food & Pharma oversight, pulling together themes and best practices on Health & Safety and ensure that programs are in place to reduce risk.


Responsibilities:

  • Build a safety culture to achieve zero incidents.
  • Develop and implement the Health & Safety Management framework across the organisation which will involve:
    • Developing and delivering on the Health & Safety Vision.
    • Setting the Health & Safety Policy and Strategy.
    • Devising the Health & Safety Standards, Guidelines & Initiatives.
    • Reviewing and auditing local policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring a consistent approach is adopted through a safety management framework.
  • Manage H&S knowledge to stimulate the sharing of best practice and learning from both internal and external sources.
  • Provide the direction on Health & Safety leadership and education programmes, sharing knowledge and coaching other safety professionals within the business.
  • Develop an effective incident reporting & investigation system across the Division.
  • Provide safety oversight to Capex projects as related to Health & Safety investments.
  • Guiding and directing the organization to become a Generative Culture with regards to Hearts & Minds

About you

Experience:
5 to 10 years’ experience of managing Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment. Background of leading on safety at a global level and interacting with safety teams

Skills:
Strong communicator with good verbal and written skills. Influencing skills within the organisation and with external safety bodies. Lead virtual / global teams through change and projects at pace. Proven organisational, multi-tasking and time management skills

Knowledge:
Qualified to degree level in Occupational Safety. In-depth understanding of International Health & Safety legislation. Developing & leading on the Global Health & Safety programmes and initiatives.
