Job summary

The City of Belleville is seeking a GIS Technician - IT to maintain and update geospatial data, produce maps, and support GIS applications for City departments and partners. The role reports to the GIS Supervisor and requires a two-year GIS-related diploma and strong ArcGIS skills.

You will work 35 hours weekly, in a permanent full-time position at City Hall, with CUPE work group and a competitive hourly wage. Closing date is Oct 5, 2026.

Qualifications

• Two (2) year College Diploma from accredited post-secondary institution in GIS or related field.
• Valid Class G Driver’s Licence and clean driving record.
• Current CRC prior to commencing work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update corporate geospatial data and databases.
• Prepare digital and paper maps and data analyses as requested.
• Support GIS applications, datasets, and publishing.
• Assist with 911 addressing and geospatial data maintenance.
• Coordinate data for outside agencies and consultants.
• Ensure accuracy and currency of GIS data on City GIS Hub.
