Job summary

BCIT’s School of Construction and the Environment seeks a regular, full-time Faculty member in Geographic Information Systems to teach GIS courses, databases, spatial systems management, remote sensing, and programming in the diploma and degree programs.

The successful candidate will teach in-person and online, contribute to the GI S program, and collaborate with industry while mentoring students and managing projects. Campus location: Burnaby.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary GIS education is required.
• GIS industry experience (5+ years) is expected.
• Experience teaching GIS at the post-secondary level is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ESRI software and Python in GIS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, assignments and exams.
• Supervise student projects and practicums.
• Participate in non-instructional departmental responsibilities.
• Mentor students and connect with industry partners.
