GIS & Enterprise Data Integration Solutions Architect

SolidCAD Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to lead high-value GIS and data integration projects, supporting solution design, implementation, training, and new service development. The role involves presales and delivery, working with clients in AEC, utilities, or government sectors.

Responsibilities:
  1. Partner with sales to identify service opportunities through discovery calls, process assessments, and demos.
  2. Present proof-of-concepts and evaluate third-party solutions.
  3. Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication.
  4. Provide consulting, implementation, training, and support across GIS and infrastructure platforms.
  5. Document deliverables such as SOWs, assessments, and training materials.
  6. Stay updated on emerging technologies and enhance domain expertise.
  7. Collaborate with team leaders to develop new services and improve methodologies.
  8. Maintain accurate CRM records of client interactions and support cases.
  9. Contribute to marketing efforts with case studies and technical presentations.
  10. Participate in internal meetings and strategy sessions.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. At least 5 years of geospatial consulting experience focusing on CAD/GIS integration and data workflows.
  2. Proficiency with Safe Software’s FME Platform (Desktop, Server, Flow).
  3. Knowledge of geospatial workflows and industry standards.
  4. Experience with API integrations (ArcGIS, SharePoint, Autodesk).
  5. Understanding of software deployment, licensing, and content management.
  6. Experience delivering professional services, training, and technical support.
  7. Strong documentation and communication skills.
  8. Ability to analyze client needs and develop tailored solutions.
  9. Experience leading assessments, discovery sessions, and demos.
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
  11. Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
  12. Willingness to travel across Canada (less than 10 days/year).
Desired Attributes:
  • Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS technologies.
  • GIS certifications (e.g., ESRI Desktop, Developer, Administrator).
  • Experience with databases (MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
  • Scripting experience (Python, C#/VB.NET).
  • Experience with CAD applications or add-ons.
Additional Details:

Compensation includes base salary, performance-based commission, and benefits. Reports to the Professional Services Manager. This is a remote-first position, preferably in British Columbia, with the possibility of working from home or a nearby office. Travel is minimal.
