Job summary

Covenant Health is seeking a Therapy Assistant to join the Geriatric Community Rehabilitation and related programs at St. Michael's Health Centre, Lethbridge.

You will support outpatient therapy services for seniors, delivering rehabilitation activities and educational interventions alongside nurses, therapists, and other team members. This casual/relief role involves varied shifts (days/evenings/nights/weekends/on call) with a focus on patient-centered care and safe, compassionate service

Qualifications

• A directly related diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.
• Graduate of a Therapeutic Recreation – Gerontology Diploma, Recreation Therapy Diploma or equivalent training.
• Experience with elderly or disabled individuals; hospital/community settings are assets.
• Excellent communication; ability to work with disabled adults; patient and flexible.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and transfer clients as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering therapeutic rehabilitation programs and activities.
• Participate in assessment activities and in planning client programs.
• Lead individual or group treatment and educational interventions.
• Collaborate with an inter-disciplinary team in a hospital/community setting.
