Job summary

Frey Consulting Group seeks a Physiotherapist Assistant to deliver rehabilitation services to Residents in a Long-Term Care Home in Plantagenet, Ontario. You will implement the supervising Physiotherapist’s plan to advance residents’ functional independence and participate in onboarding, mentorship, and ongoing support from a senior clinician.

Qualifications

• 2-year Diploma from an accredited OTA/PTA program or equivalent.
• Police Vulnerable Sector Check required upon hire.
• Vaccinations up-to-date, including influenza, MMR, DTaP, varicella, TB skin test.
• Knowledge/experience in musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiorespiratory practice with focus on functional outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Accept tasks from supervising Physiotherapist and communicate to ensure high quality resident care.
• Follow Resident- and Family-centered Care Plans as assigned.
• Implement treatments to progress residents' independence in transfers, gait, strength, ROM, balance, and cardio-respiratory function.
• Conduct group exercise classes for Residents.
• Maintain and clean rehabilitation equipment.
• Participate in quality improvement programs with measurable outcomes.
