Job summary

Yee Hong Centre For Geriatric Care in Mississauga is seeking a dedicated Dish Room / Food Service Worker to support meal delivery, portioning desserts, and keeping the kitchen clean and sanitary. You will also wash dishes and sanitize equipment according to policy.

The role requires a Food Handler Safety Certificate, ability to lift heavy trays, and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment. English literacy is essential; Chinese language is an asset.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of, or current enrollment in a recognized Food Service Worker Program.
• Current Food Handler Safety Certificate.
• Some experience in the food services industry.
• Ability to lift heavy industrial size food trays, pots and pans.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English; Chinese language is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of meals to residents; portioning and serving dessert.
• Dishwashing and cleaning of cooking equipment, pots, pans and smallware.
• General cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen areas in accordance with policies and standards.
