Globe 24-7 is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Superintendent for a northern Ontario underground operation on a 4-days-on / 3-days-off schedule. You will provide technical leadership across ground control, seismic monitoring, geotechnical analysis, and backfill systems, collaborating with engineering, geology, and operations teams to improve performance and safety.

The role emphasizes practical solutions, continuous improvement, and driving safe, efficient execution in a drive-in operation

Qualifications

• Professional Engineering designation is an asset.

The Company

Globe 24-7 is partnering with a Canadian mining organization, to hire an experienced Geotechnical Superintendent for one of their underground operations in northern Ontario. Please note this is a drive-in operation and the role is offered with a 4-days-on / 3-days-off schedule.

Position Overview

As Geotechnical Superintendent, you will provide technical leadership to support safe, stable, and efficient operations. You will oversee geotechnical programs related to ground control, seismic monitoring, geotechnical analysis, and backfill systems while working closely with engineering, geology, and operations teams. This role focuses on improving technical performance, implementing practical solutions, and driving continuous improvement across the operation.

The Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead, mentor, and develop the geotechnical team while promoting a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical guidance and support on geotechnical matters to engineering, geology, and operations teams.
• Review and contribute to engineering plans, technical designs, and operational strategies to support safe and efficient execution.
• Assess geotechnical performance using monitoring data, risk assessments, and engineering analysis to maintain ground stability.
• Support capital projects, budgeting activities, and contractor coordination by providing geotechnical expertise and technical oversight.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering within a complex industrial or mining environment, including leadership experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in ground control, rock mechanics, geotechnical analysis, and risk management.
• Bachelor#39;s degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Professional engineering designation is considered an asset.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency with geotechnical modelling, engineering analysis, and planning software, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Committed to continuous improvement, technical excellence, and maintaining safe and efficient operations.
