Job summary

SRK Consulting is seeking a Junior Geotechnical/Rock Mechanics Engineer in Vancouver, BC, Canada. You will work on geotechnical characterization and rock mechanics for surface and underground mine design on projects for North American and international clients.

The role covers from conceptual studies to detailed design and construction, including mine closure, with travel required and collaboration in multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in geological, mining or geotechnical engineering.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with geotechnical logging, mapping and rock mass characterization is a plus.
• Understanding of 2D/3D geological/geotechnical modelling packages is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a team under supervision of a Senior/Principal Consultant.
• Valid driver's license.
• Based in Vancouver or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Consult on projects for North American and international clients with travel.
• Characterize geotechnical data and apply rock mechanics to surface and underground mine design issues.
• Manage full project scopes from conceptual studies to detailed design, construction, and closure.
