Job summary

SRK Consulting is looking for an Intermediate Geotechnical/Rock Mechanics Engineer in Vancouver, BC. This role involves consulting on international projects, participating in geotechnical characterization, and applying rock mechanics principles to mine design.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in geological, mining or geotechnical engineering and 3 to 8 years of relevant experience. Opportunities for travel and a competitive compensation package are included in this position.

Qualifications

• 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in geotechnical or mining environment.
• Experience in open pit or underground mining is advantageous.
• Ability to work both independently and within a small team.

Responsibilities

• Consult on geotechnical projects for international clients.
• Apply rock mechanics principles to mine design issues.
• Collaborate with teams on diverse projects both nationally and internationally.

Skills

Proficiency in geological modelling software

Geotechnical logging and mapping

Understanding of 2D/3D geotechnical numerical modelling

Hydrogeology experience

Education

Degree in geological, mining or geotechnical engineering
