Job summary

Powertech Labs Inc, a cleantech engineering firm, seeks a Civil Engineer to assess embankment dam materials in a state-of-the-art lab. You will plan and execute tests, analyze data, and deliver technical reports within schedule and budget.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, geotechnical exposure, and P.Eng. eligibility. Up to five years of related experience and a valid driver’s licence are preferred. Temporary, full-time in Surrey, BC with safety-sensitive requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with geotechnical focus preferred.
• Postgraduate degree in geotechnical engineering would be an asset.
• Registered or eligible for P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
• Up to five years of relevant engineering experience toward EGBC registration.
• Experience in embankment dam or civil infrastructure testing is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform production-level laboratory testing to evaluate embankment dam materials.
• Analyze and interpret laboratory results; provide conclusions and recommendations.
• Prepare engineering documentation and technical reports including work plans and testing reports.
• Coordinate testing activities and monitor scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Provide technical guidance to laboratory and technical staff and review work for accuracy.
• Support the quality management program by following standards and accreditation requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated technical solutions.
• Assist in evaluating opportunities for new services and market needs.
• Participate in meetings and present findings to stakeholders.
• Mentor or support team members within responsibilities and experience.
