Job summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a Medical Geographer a Research Assistant/Technician 3 to support epidemiology projects focusing on Inflammatory Bowel Disease and environmental determinants. Under Dr.

Jacobson, you will handle IBD registries, health admin databases, data acquisition and analysis, and manuscript preparation. Preferred candidates will have a Master’s in health sciences with geo-spatial mapping expertise and strong skills in SAS, R, Excel, and Word.

Qualifications

• Completion of a relevant technical program or a university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master's degree in health sciences or related field will be considered a major asset; expertise in geo-spatial mapping.
• Experience with SAS and R, online literature searches and web-based applications is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with REB protocol development and submission.
• Manage health admin databases and data acquisition/analysis.
• Write reports and manuscripts and assist with grant applications.
