Job summary

Strathcona Resources Ltd. in Calgary seeks a Geophysicist to join the Lloydminster Conventional team. You will apply geophysical expertise to support operational and strategic decisions, with emphasis on reservoir exploitation and drill-location selection.

The role involves collaboration with geologists, reservoir engineers, and development engineers, providing real-time geosteering input and ensuring high‑quality seismic interpretation across assets.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics is required.
5+ years in upstream oil & gas with a focus on conventional assets.
Proficiency in Seisware and seismic interpretation techniques.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Interpret 2D and 3D seismic data and integrate results with geological mapping for Lloydminster Conventional assets.
Oversee seismic data processing and quality-control of stacks and outputs.
Provide geophysical support during drilling planning and execution, including various well types.
Serve as on-call Calgary operations contact during drilling, contributing to real-time decisions.
Share learnings and insights with the broader team to guide future drilling campaigns.
Manage planning, acquisition, and QC of new 2D/3D seismic data as needed.
