Job summary

Lake Shore Gold in Timmins, Ontario is seeking a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year Geology Co-Op student to join the Exploration Office on a contract basis. Placements will run from September 2026 to December 2026, with 4-month or 8-month options available.

Relocation to Timmins is required and accommodations are provided. Responsibilities include logging core, assisting with field work, data entry, and using DHLogger, Datamine, Deswik, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a geology or earth science program.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required.
• A valid driver’s licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Log core from mine sites or surface exploration projects.
• Assist with field work (mapping, sampling, scouting and prospecting).
• Assist mine geology personnel in day-to-day activities.
• Data entry, filing, and excellent computer skills will be required.

About the Organization

Lake Shore Gold (a subsidiary of Pan American Silver) is located in Timmins, Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex, located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to the surface via a modern 1080m deep shaft capable of 4800tpd.

About The Opportunity

We are looking to hire a 2nd, 3rd or 4th year Geology Co-Op Student to join our team at the Exploration Office in Timmins, ON, on a contact basis. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 8 hr shifts. Placements will run from September 2026 - December 2026. 4 month or 8 month placement options available.

Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.

Compensation - $27.50/hour. Accommodations and living allowance are provided.

Responsibilities Of The Geology Co-Op Student Include

• Work both on surface and in underground environments
• Log core from either mine sites or from surface exploration projects
• Assist with field work (mapping, sampling, scouting and prospecting)
• Assist mine geology personnel in their day-to-day activities
• Data entry, filing, and excellent computer skills will be required.
• You will be required to work with DHLogger, Datamine, possibly Deswik, and Microsoft Office.

• Students must be currently enrolled in a geology or earth science program to be eligible
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office is required
