We have multiple positions available on our clients sites in Timmins and Chapleau. Accommodation and travel reimbursement will be provided for qualified candidates from out of town.

About the job :

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in conducting geological studies, analyzing data, and contributing to the exploration and development of mineral resources. This position requires both fieldwork and office-based tasks, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support our mining operations.

  • Core Logging & Sampling : Conduct detailed core logging, including lithology, alteration, mineralization, and structural features, to support exploration and resource evaluation.
  • Conduct Geological Surveys : Plan and execute field studies, collecting samples of rocks, soil, and other geological materials to analyze the Earth’s structure and composition.
  • Data Analysis : Utilize specialized software to interpret geological data, prepare detailed reports, maps, and cross-sections, and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Resource Evaluation : Assess natural resource deposits, such as minerals, oil, and gas, and provide recommendations for extraction and management.
  • Risk Assessment : Investigate potential geological hazards, such as earthquakes, landslides, or floods, and develop mitigation plans to minimize risks.
  • Environmental Compliance : Ensure all geological activities comply with environmental regulations and contribute to sustainable land-use planning.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with environmental scientists, engineers, and planners on land use and resource management projects.
  • Rotation schedule will be 5x5x4, 7x7 or 14x14 – to be confirmed at a later time.
  • Accommodation will be provided for qualified candidates from out of town.

What you need :

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience : Minimum of 2 years of experience in mining or related industrial operations, with direct experience in core logging and sampling.

A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are mandatory.

Technical Skills :

  • Proficiency in geological mapping and surveying techniques.
  • Strong experience in core logging and interpretation.
  • Familiarity with geological computer software (e.g., Leapfrog, ArcGIS, Rockware, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
