About Brucejack

Our Brucejack Gold Mine, a high-grade underground mine in beautiful northern British Columbia, is located approximately 65 kilometres north of Stewart. Brucejack is a fly-in/fly-out operation with pick-up points across Western Canada, making it easy for people from different places to join us. We work closely with local First Nations communities including the Nisga’a, Tahltan, Gitanyow, and Gitxsan, to build respectful partnerships and celebrate our shared community.

Your Impact

As an Exploration Geologist at Brucejack, you will play a key role in delivering Newmont’s exploration programs through fieldwork, technical analysis, and data management. Your expertise in geological interpretation and modeling will directly influence the success of drill programs and support the continuous development of our orebody knowledge.

As Part of Our Team, You Will
  • Conduct detailed core logging and geologic interpretations
  • Contribute to program design, short- and long-term planning, and budgeting
  • Execute QA/QC protocols for assays, survey data, and drillhole validations
  • Compile work proposals, progress reports, and program performance reviews
  • Update exploration models and adapt drilling plans based on field results
  • Collaborate with drill and analytical business partners and ensure SOP compliance
Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role
  • Bachelor's degree in Geological Sciences or related field
  • Registered or eligible for registration as P.Geo or GIT
  • Minimum 1-3 years of exploration experience, preferably in a mining environment
  • Understanding of ore deposit models, lithology, alteration, and structural geology
  • Experience with geologic softwares (Leapfrog and Acquire) considered an asset
  • Technical writing skills is an asset
  • Understanding of data analysis and QA/QC protocols
  • Field-based experience in remote locations and/or underground experience are considered an asset
  • Strong collaboration, critical thinking, adaptability, and communication skills across technical and operational teams
Your Work Environment
  • Location: Brucejack Mine (fly-in/fly-out)
  • Rotation: Aligned with program schedule (typically 13 days on/13 days off or as defined by exploration phase)
  • Conditions: Field-based role involving core facilities, underground visits, and exposure to harsh weather
  • Requirements: Pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol testing, and adherence to PPE/safety protocols

The offered base salary will be determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies, with consideration to internal equity.
