Job summary

CANADIAN ROYALTIES INC. is seeking a Mining Technician to support underground mine operations. You will perform mapping, excavation monitoring, and grade control in collaboration with geologists, while assisting supervisors in all mining activities.

The role requires a DEC in mining technology or geology, 0–2 years of experience, and bilingual English/French communication. You may participate in sampling campaigns and assist with assay results and data validation.

Qualifications

• DEC in mining technology, geology option or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of professional experience in mining geology or exploration.
• Hold a valid driving license class 5.
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft Suite software.
• Knowing Deswik (an asset)
• FMTM mining modules 1,2,3,4,5,7 (an asset).
• Bilingualism in French and English, able to communicate verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist the supervisors in all the Company’s operations.
• Work with geologists for developing underground mines and potentially open pits.
• Perform the underground work routine.
• Possibility of grade control in future open-pit mines.
• Participate in targeted sampling campaigns.
• Prepare samples for shipment to the mine laboratory.
• Participate in mapping, data entry and data validation.
• Assist in preparation and interpretation of assay results.
• Perform any other tasks required by the supervisor to support mine operations.

Job description

The normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks of rest .

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Mine Geologists, the technician will primarily perform mapping, excavation monitoring, and grade control as well as structural surveys. They will be responsible for:

• Assisting the supervisors in all the Company’s operations.
• Work in collaboration with the geologists for developing Company’s underground mines and potentially open pits.
• Perform the underground work routine.
• Possibility of grade control in future open-pit mines.
• Participate in targeted sampling campaigns.
• Prepare samples for shipment to the mine laboratory.
• Participate in mapping, data entry and data validation.
• Assist in preparation and interpretation of assay results.
• Perform any other tasks required by the supervisor in order to give a good assistance to the mine operations.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have a college diploma (DEC) in mining technology, geology option or equivalent;
• Have 0 to 2 years of professional experience in mining geology or exploration.
• Hold a valid driving license class 5;
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft Suite software.
• Knowing Deswik (an asset);
• FMTM mining modules 1,2,3,4,5,7 (an asset).
• Hold a general explosive permit;
• Bilingualism in French and English and ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
