Job summary

IAMGOLD is a Canadian-based gold mining company with operations across North America and West Africa. We’re actively seeking a Field Technician (Geology) at the Côté Gold Mine Site to support grade control, sampling, material tracking, and progress reporting while providing onsite geological data collection.

Reporting to the Chief Geologist, this field-based role helps deliver accurate field data, supports safe production, and drives operational excellence at Côté Gold.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• A college diploma in geology or mining related field is asset.
• A minimum of 3 months related work experience is an asset.
• Previous mining experience (open pit) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples from Reverse circulation drills and Production drills for grade control program.
• Organize, dispatch and complete chain of custody dispatching samples to laboratories.
• Organize, receive and store returning samples from laboratories.
• Safe operation of flatbed field trucks/ telehandler following Cote Gold safety standards while operating around active mining areas.
• Assist Geology team with in-field ore block marks with field ore blocks markups.
• Keep track of inventory of supplies.
• Maintain, wash and clean light vehicles as required.
• Maintain, wash and clean survey, drill and blast and geology tools and equipment as required.

We’re actively searching for a Field Technician (Geology) at the Côté Gold Mine Site, with a start date to be determined, reporting to the Chief Geologist. This field-based role supports grade control, sampling, material tracking, transportation activities, and progress reporting while providing onsite geological support and data collection. The Field Technician (Geology) contributes to IMG’s purpose by delivering accurate field data and geological support that enable informed operational decisions. Through sampling, surveys, and material tracking, this role helps optimize resource management, support safe production, and drive operational excellence at Côté Gold.

Key Skills & Knowledge:

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Exceptions may be sought as required.
• A college diploma in a geology or mining related field is considered an asset.
• A minimum of 3 months’ related work experience is an asset.
• Previous experience in mining (specifically open put mining) is considered an asset.

Salary Range: $63,000- $94,500 The final offer is determined based on your individual skills, qualifications, and competencies and aligned with our commitment to internal equity.
