Zusammenfassung

The Princess Margaret Genomics Centre at University Health Network (UHN) in Toronto is seeking a Permanent Full‑time Research Technician II for our bulk genomics services team. You will perform library preparation, QC, and data entry, and collaborate with clients to ensure timely delivery of sequencing projects.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Genomics or related field, 3+ years hands‑on experience, and familiarity with molecular biology techniques and LIMS.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Genomics, Molecular biology or related discipline required.
• Minimum 3 years hands‑on related experience required.
• At least 1 year in standard molecular biology techniques (PCR/qPCR, quantification, library prep) preferred.
• Experience with LIMS is an asset.
• Experience with Illumina DNA sequencing library construction is an asset.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and technologies.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to work under deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and team communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Perform genomics library preparation (RNA, whole genome, exome) with QC of input material and final products.
• Onboard samples from clients and communicate with them regarding progress.
• Construct DNA epigenetic profiling libraries (methylation).
• QC inputs by BioAnalyzer, Nanodrop, and fluorimetry; final QC of libraries.
• Enter sample and library data into LIMS and manage records.
• Operate Illumina NovaSeq X Plus sequencing platform and related workflows.
