Job summary

National Bank of Canada is seeking a Generative AI Solutions Architect to lead the design and evolution of AI-enabled architectures within Commercial and 1859 Technology and Innovation.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams, guide adoption of LLM services, and build modular, secure cloud architectures that scale with business needs.

This role emphasizes governance, data pipelines, MLOps, and continuous improvement in a hybrid work environment with strong learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience delivering projects involving generative AI, advanced language models, or emerging AI solutions.
• Strong cloud architecture knowledge, ideally AWS/Salesforce, incl. generative AI services.
• Experience designing data/APIs/microservices and governance mechanisms.
• Knowledge of modern software practices, CI/CD, security, and integration.
• Banking industry experience is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Define solutions that integrate generative AI into various business contexts.
• Influence technology directions and guide teams in adopting LLM and AI-powered services.
• Design modular, secure, and scalable architectures with cloud components.
• Ensure solution quality and compliance with development, data, and cybersecurity teams.
• Contribute to end‑to‑end solutions, including data pipelines, MLOps, and system integrations.
• Diagnose complex challenges and optimize robustness, performance, and security of AI solutions.
