Job summary

Nova Scotia Health Authority at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre is seeking a General Worker to clean and service assigned areas, ensuring a safe, hygienic environment for patients, visitors and staff. The role may involve handling water and cleaning/disinfecting chemicals with proper PPE and requires a Grade 12/GED.

The position is casual relief with no guaranteed hours, offering shifts at $20.74–$21.56 per hour.

Qualifications

• Grade 12/GED required or equivalent work experience.
• Good verbal, reading and writing skills are required.
• Previous housekeeping experience an asset.
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

About the Opportunity

The General Worker cleans and services their assigned areas to ensure safety, health and morale of patients, visitors and employees. The general worker assists patients’ recovery by helping to provide a clean, attractive, safe environment with minimal interference to others. This position may require some handling of infectious materials (with proper Personal Protective Equipment) and may require frequent contact with water and strong cleaning/disinfecting chemicals.

About You
