You will join Young Innovations in Brantford, Ontario as a dependable General Labourer and Light Maintenance team member. You will help keep the plant and office clean, safe, and running smoothly with a hands-on, varied daily routine.

Responsibilities include janitorial tasks, light repairs, and outdoor maintenance, plus weekly safety inspections. You will coordinate with the Maintenance Manager and support warehouse and production teams to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of practical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Works closely with the warehouse and production departments and the management team. This role has no direct reports.What You’ll Do:Cleaning and SanitationComplete cleaning and sanitation as requiredUse the automatic floor scrubber on a regular basisChange plant garbageStock bathrooms and lunchrooms with supplies as neededClean up spills in common areas (non-production related)Facilities Maintenance and Operations SupportComplete light in-house building repairs and renovationsInside: change light bulbs, paint, wipe down common surfaces (entrances), replenish salt in softeners, etc.Outside: clear snow from building entranceways, mow, control weeds, etc.Change filters on various equipmentAssist with day-to-day facilities maintenance requirements and general repairs to production equipmentAssist various warehouse departments to keep production at an optimal levelAct as truck runner and complete deliveriesIdentify productivity improvements and opportunities, and give feedback to the management team on continuous improvementOther duties as assigned by the ManagerSafety, Records and ComplianceComplete weekly and monthly safety checks on equipmentEnsure work orders are created for work performedHelp maintain the PM program and documentation, aligning with the CALMAN programMaintain maintenance recordsBe on call (off hours) for building security and water system alarms if requiredParticipate in off-hours water system sanitization procedures, scheduled and unscheduled, if requiredComply with ISO 9001 specifications and GMP regulations, and ensure quality standards are metFollow the responsibilities outlined in the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and company policiesWhat You’ll Bring:High school diploma required; post-secondary education/training preferred3 years of practical, hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentGeneral manufacturing maintenance experience (pumps, electrical, conveyors, welding) is a strong assetPharmaceutical, food or cosmetic industry experience is an asset but not requiredStrong attention to detailAbility to multi-task and prioritize workload, with strong time management skillsSelf-starter who works well independentlyStrong written and verbal communication and organizational skillsAbility to read a variety of materials, including POs, order requests, safety labels and work instructionsTechnical SkillsComputer skillsWord, Excel and ERP system (as trained)Manufacturing maintenancePumps, electrical, conveyors, plumbing and welding (not required but strong asset)Travel RequirementsNoneCompensation Range: $23-$26Work EnvironmentManufacturing/Distribution EnvironmentThis position operates in a manufacturing plant environment. The role routinely involves working around machinery, equipment, and moving mechanical parts. The facility may be subject to varying temperatures, loud noise levels, and airborne particles such as dust or chemical fumes, depending on the area of the plant. This role may require periods of standing, sitting, or walking throughout the workday. Occasional bending, lifting, or carrying items up to 60 pounds may be necessary. The role may also involve working outside up to 20% of the time, climbing a step stool or ladder, and reaching above shoulder height.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, control, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk. Hearing abilities required for this environment include being able to clearly hear and respond to audible alarms, production equipment, forklifts, and other machinery to maintain a safe work environment.
