Job description

As the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading the daily operations of a vibrant senior living community, ensuring an exceptional experience for residents, staff, and visitors. Reporting directly to the COO, you will:

Provide overall leadership to site operations, including hospitality, maintenance, resident services, and administration.

Lead and support a multidisciplinary team, fostering a positive, professional, and service-focused work culture.

Ensure high standards of resident care and satisfaction, addressing concerns and promoting engagement within the community.

Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and operational performance in alignment with corporate goals.

Collaborate closely with corporate departments (HR, Finance, Marketing, etc.) and participate in leadership meetings and regular reporting.

Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of staff while ensuring compliance with company policies and health and safety regulations.

Build strong relationships with residents, families, and local stakeholders to maintain a welcoming and inclusive community environment.

  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate with relevant parties.
  • Develop and implement safety programs and staff development initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Experience with seniors or individuals with disabilities is an asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Required to be on-call.
  • A current and clear Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector
  • Able to travel <25% in Alberta for training and to support other sites when needed.
  • Class 5 Driver's license and own vehicle.
