Job description

At Multy, we are pioneers in the circular economy and sustainable manufacturing. Through our specialized divisions, including Delta Gomma, we transform recycled rubber and diverted materials into high performance, eco conscious consumer and industrial products. Partnering with major multinational retailers and commercial distributors across North America and Europe, we merge sustainable environmental stewardship with large-scale, automated manufacturing excellence.

What We Do

We operate high volume, continuous-manufacturing facilities dedicated to raw material compounding, vulcanization, precision molding, and converting diverted rubber waste into durable finished goods. From architectural and agricultural surfaces to commercial matting and retail home solutions, our end-to-end operations encompass everything from incoming raw material recovery to integrated North American retail distribution.

What's Important to Us
  • Safety First, Always: A non-negotiable commitment to the health, safety, and well-being of our team, maintaining strict compliance with CNESST standards and fostering a proactive, zero-harm safety culture.
  • Operational Excellence: Relentless dedication to Lean principles, 5S workplace organization, scrap reduction, and continuous process optimization.
  • Sustainable Innovation: Diverting millions of pounds of waste from landfills every year while delivering exceptional product quality to our retail and industrial partners.
  • People & Collaborative Leadership: Empowering frontline teams, respecting the workplace community, and building clear internal development pathways for supervisors and operators.
  • Commercial Accountability: Leading the site with true ownership—managing plant economics, labor efficiency, customer lead times, and operational margins.
Key Responsibilities

As General Manager, you will hold complete operational and site leadership for the Delta Gomma manufacturing facility. You will direct safety, production, plant maintenance, quality assurance, and supply chain logistics, serving as the commercial and operational leader accountable for plant performance against budget and strategic growth goals.

  • Strategic Operations & P&L Oversight: Direct total plant performance, budget development, and cost containment across direct labor, raw materials, energy, and maintenance overhead. Manage operational variances and optimize margins across a diverse, high-volume SKU portfolio.
  • Continuous Manufacturing Leadership: Lead continuous production lines, compression/injection molding, vulcanization processes, and material conversion. Ensure close alignment between production schedules, BOM accuracy, and machine uptime to consistently beat customer delivery commitments and lead times.
  • Supply Chain & Material Flow: Partner with supply chain and warehouse leads to maintain optimal safety stock, streamline WIP (work-in-progress) throughput, and manage raw material receiving to support uncompromised on-time, in-full (OTIF) order fulfillment.
  • Systems & Data Governance: Champion data-driven operational management utilizing our enterprise systems (ERP / NetSuite, MRP, Power BI). Establish, monitor, and report key site metrics including OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), scrap rates, labor absorption, and downtime analysis.
  • Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance (CNESST): Champion plant-wide adherence to Quebec occupational health, safety, and environmental standards under the CNESST. Lead the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC / CSS) culture and foster proactive, behavior-based safety practices across all shifts.
  • Continuous Improvement & Capital Planning: Direct Lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S initiatives across the facility. Formulate and execute CAPEX business cases for plant layout improvements, tooling investments, facility infrastructure, and automated machinery integration.
  • People Leadership & Workplace Culture: Lead, mentor, and build high-performing production supervisors, maintenance technicians, and floor teams. Partner with Human Resources to manage workforce planning, skills matrix adherence, training compliance, and positive employee relations across both hourly and salaried staff.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical), Operations Management, Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of senior industrial leadership experience.
  • Experience: 7–10+ years of progressive operational leadership within a heavy manufacturing, continuous operation, or industrial processing environment; including 3–5+ years in an autonomous site leadership capacity (General Manager, Operations Director, or Senior Plant Manager).
  • Language Proficiency: Bilingual fluency in French and English (written and verbal) is required. You will lead shop-floor operations, local employee relations, and regulatory interactions in French, while collaborating seamlessly with Multy corporate leadership in English.
  • Industry Background: Direct experience in rubber compounding/molding, vulcanization, plastics extrusion, heavy material conversion, or building products manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Technical & Continuous Improvement Mastery: Proven success implementing Lean Manufacturing, 5S frameworks, Root Cause Analysis, and behavior-based safety programs.
  • Systems & Digital Acumen: Strong familiarity with modern ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), MRP, production planning tools, and reporting dashboards (Power BI, advanced Excel).
  • Leadership & Labor Relations: Exceptional executive presence, high emotional intelligence, and a proven track record of inspiring floor-level teams while partnering effectively with executive stakeholders.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
  • Regular presence across both the industrial manufacturing plant floor (industrial equipment, material compounding areas, temperature variations, and noise) and executive administrative offices.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and navigate heavy industrial production areas during regular operational inspections and Gemba walks.
  • Strict adherence to all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards on the plant floor.
What You Can Expect at Multy
  • Executive Impact: A pivotal leadership seat steering a flagship manufacturing facility within a rapidly growing, private-equity-backed circular economy leader.
  • Competitive Total Rewards: Highly competitive executive base compensation, performance-driven annual incentive bonus (VCP), comprehensive health and dental benefits, and retirement programs.
  • Dynamic, Agile Culture: An entrepreneurial environment that values quick decision-making, pragmatic solutions, and operational autonomy.
