General Manager, Industrial Waste

The General Manager, Industrial Operations is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, safety, and financial results of multiple industrial facilities within the organization. This role provides strategic direction and hands‑on leadership to ensure consistent execution of operational standards across all sites while driving continuous improvement, regulatory compliance, profitability, and team development.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for day-to-day operations across multiple industrial sites.
  • Translate corporate strategy into site-level execution plans, targets, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure operational consistency across locations while accommodating site-specific requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence in safety, quality, productivity, maintenance, logistics, and customer service.
  • Own full P&L responsibility for all assigned sites, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Deliver profitability targets through disciplined expense management and efficiency initiatives.
  • Champion a strong safety-first culture across all sites.
  • Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead audits, inspections, training programs, and corrective actions to maintain compliance and minimize risk.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Site Managers, supervisors, and cross‑functional leadership teams.
  • Build high‑performing, accountable management teams with clear expectations and performance standards.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and workforce engagement initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across sites using Lean, process optimization, or similar methodologies.
  • Ensure quality systems and controls are embedded in daily operations.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for operational, safety, or quality issues.
  • Work closely with executive leadership, finance, HR, supply chain, sales, and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for site-level issues and customer concerns.
  • Communicate operational performance, risks, and improvement plans to senior leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive leadership experience in industrial, manufacturing, environmental, or heavy operations environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple sites or large, complex operations.
  • Proven P&L responsibility and strong financial acumen.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, regulatory, and environmental compliance requirements.

Compensation Information

The expected range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
