ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsible for the profit and loss of the Greater Montreal Ready Mix Market, upholding all company commitments and fostering a safety-first culture. The role involves executing business strategies, operational and commercial plans, and leading resources within the market area. Responsibilities include safety, sales, marketing, operations, and production. The incumbent will work with functional leaders to ensure products and services meet Lafarge ECAN standards, support sustainability targets, and are delivered cost-effectively. Emphasis on employee engagement through communication of vision, purpose, and core values of Passion, Collaboration, and Grit. Supports innovation and digital solutions development.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH

• Health & Safety Leadership: Promote a proactive safety culture through Critical Control Management and engagement in safety audits.
• Employee Engagement: Drive safe work practices and documentation via the HSEIP plan.
• Wellness Awareness: Promote employee wellness for safety and performance.
• Team Leadership: Coach and develop teams to foster growth, innovation, and collaboration.
• Strategic Alignment: Ensure team goals align with company strategy, utilizing tools like Salesforce and Qlik.
• Performance Management: Monitor team progress, address underperformance, and manage talent including hiring and termination.
• Operational Oversight: Oversee concrete production, optimize plant operations, and control costs.
• Union & Labour Relations: Collaborate on union negotiations and maintain positive labor relations.
• Sales Strategy: Manage sales processes, ensuring compliance with Price Margin Management protocols.
• Customer Focus: Manage key accounts, drive customer satisfaction, and ensure accurate sales forecasting.
• Specialty Sales: Support growth of the Volumetric Business and enhance brand presence in Québec with unique products.
• Quality Management: Oversee quality control, incident management, and raw material sourcing to balance cost and quality.
• Market Intelligence: Gather competitive insights for budgeting and strategic decisions.
• Financial Strategy: Forecast financial performance across brands, improving margins through strategic operations.
• Innovation Culture: Promote innovation, especially with sustainable products like ECOPact.
• Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies, fostering a safety culture.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 10 years RMX experience.
• Technical skills: Microsoft Office, SAP.
• Travel requirement: 25%.
• Strong leadership, financial mindset, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and people management skills.
• Industry-specific knowledge and ability to develop internal and external relations.

Additional Requirements

• Adherence to safety protocols and proper PPE use, including being clean-shaven for respirator fit tests.
