Holcim is planning to spin off its North American Business to unleash its full potential, capitalizing on North America’s significant growth in construction driven by infrastructure modernization, advanced manufacturing, AI operations, and resilient cities.

Holcim plans to list the new company on the NYSE by the end of the first half of 2025 and establish its headquarters in the US to serve the North American market and pursue regional growth strategies.

The newly listed company aims to become North America’s leading building solutions provider, with a strong market position to meet customer ambitions with advanced building solutions from foundation to rooftop.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Responsible for the profit and loss of the Greater Montreal Ready Mix Market, upholding all company commitments, and fostering a safety-first culture. The role involves executing business strategies, operational and commercial plans, and leading all organizational resources within the market. Responsibilities include safety, sales, marketing, operations, and production. The incumbent will collaborate with functional leaders to secure long-term growth, ensure product and service standards, support sustainability, and deliver cost-effective solutions. The role also emphasizes employee engagement through communication of vision, purpose, and core values of Passion, Collaboration, and Grit, along with fostering innovation and digital solutions.

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Health & Safety Leadership: Promote a proactive safety culture through Critical Control Management and engagement in safety audits and corrective actions.
  • Employee Engagement: Drive safe work practices and documentation via the HSEIP plan.
  • Wellness Awareness: Promote employee wellness to enhance safety and performance.
  • Team Leadership: Coach and develop teams to foster growth, innovation, and collaboration.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure team strategies align with company goals using tools like Salesforce and Qlik.
  • Performance Management: Monitor progress, address underperformance, and manage talent including hiring and termination.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee concrete production, optimize plant operations, and control costs.
  • Union & Labour Relations: Collaborate on union negotiations and maintain positive labor relations.
  • Sales Strategy: Manage sales processes, ensuring compliance with protocols.
  • Customer Focus: Manage key accounts, improve customer satisfaction, and forecast sales.
  • Specialty Sales: Support growth in Québec with unique product offerings.
  • Quality Management: Oversee quality control, incident management, and raw material sourcing.
  • Market Intelligence: Gather insights to inform strategic decisions.
  • Financial Strategy: Forecast financial performance and improve margins.
  • Innovation Culture: Promote innovation, especially with sustainable products like ECOPact.
  • Health & Safety Policies: Commit to safety, proper PPE use, and adherence to protocols.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of Ready Mix experience.
  • Technical skills: Microsoft Office, SAP.
  • Travel requirement: 25%.
  • Strong leadership, financial acumen, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and people management skills.
  • Industry-specific knowledge and ability to develop internal and external relations.

Additional Requirements: Candidates must adhere to safety protocols and PPE requirements, including being clean-shaven for respirator fit testing.
