About The Role
The General Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Okotoks Volkswagen dealership, including Sales and Service departments. Responsibilities include ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and departmental growth. The role involves leading cross-functional teams, resolving customer concerns, staff development, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance dealership performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster collaboration across all departments to maximize opportunities and improve services.
- Maintain high customer satisfaction levels across departments.
- Manage vehicle inventory strategically and efficiently.
- Demonstrate a positive, motivated attitude.
- Lead, develop, and motivate a high-performing team.
- Create and implement innovative marketing strategies to boost growth and profitability.
- Collaborate with the Marketing department on campaigns to increase showroom traffic, enhance brand presence, and support sales goals.
- Support and guide staff as needed.
Sales Department Oversight
- Assist sales managers and staff in achieving monthly targets and maintaining high closing ratios.
- Manage inventory control, vehicle ordering, and lot presentation.
- Monitor showroom traffic and sales processes for efficiency and lead conversion.
- Conduct sales meetings and participate in customer interactions when necessary.
Service Department Oversight
- Work with the Service department to ensure timely repairs, high repair order throughput, and customer satisfaction.
- Review service metrics such as CSI scores, warranty compliance, and technician productivity.
- Oversee scheduling and capacity planning to manage walk-in and appointment traffic.
- Support quality control and maintain a professional, clean, and customer-focused service drive.
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of progressive dealership experience, including 2 years in management or supervisory roles.
- Strong knowledge of sales and service operations.
- Experience with CRM systems, PBS or similar DMS, and OEM tools (Volkswagen Canada systems preferred).
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make data-driven decisions.
Requirements
- Valid AB driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.
- AMVIC license.
