Job summary

Downright Demolition, part of Mosaic Home Services Inc., in Edmonton, is seeking a General Manager to run Downright as its own business. You will own the division's revenue, margin, safety, people, and growth, and you will build and lead the team that runs the projects, being accountable for the numbers.

This is a seat for someone who has already led people in commercial construction and wants to run the whole thing, not just manage a project.

Downright Demolition is the partner Alberta's toughest commercial projects call first. We handle complex interior demolition and asbestos abatement inside active hospitals, office towers, correctional facilities, and industrial plants. The places most demolition crews cannot work safely. More than 2,000 projects completed, with a crew carrying over 50 years of combined experience.

The role

We are hiring a General Manager to run Downright as its own business. You own the division: revenue, margin, safety, people, and growth. This is not a project manager with a bigger title. You build and lead the team that runs the projects, and you are accountable for the numbers.

This is a seat for someone who has already led people in commercial construction and wants to run the whole thing.

What you will own

• Full P&L for the division. Revenue, gross margin, and operating performance.
• Building, leading, and developing the estimating, operations, and field teams.
• Holding the line on safety and execution standards inside regulated, occupied environments.
• Winning and protecting relationships with general contractors, property managers, and institutional clients.
• Installing the systems that let the business run without you in every detail.

What we are looking for

• Real leadership and team-building experience in commercial construction, demolition, trades, or industrial work. You have built a team, not just managed a project.
• A track record of developing people and delegating real authority, not hoarding decisions.
• Comfort owning hard numbers and being measured on them.
• The maturity to solve problems in your lane instead of escalating them. You bring solutions, not just issues.
• Direct communication. You can run a difficult conversation without avoiding it.
• Working knowledge of commercial demolition, asbestos abatement, permits, and safety compliance. You understand how high-stakes job sites actually run.

This is not the role for someone who wants to stay an individual contributor or who needs constant direction. We want an operator who gets stronger when things get ambiguous, not someone who freezes.
