Job Description

General Manager - Food and Beverage Venues

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven General Manager to lead the ARC restaurant and In Room Dining outlets at the Fairmont Waterfront. The ideal candidate will be a passionate leader with a proven track record in driving revenue, upholding Forbes and LQA standards, and fostering a luxury service culture. As General Manager, you will oversee daily operations, develop training programs to deliver exceptional guest experiences, and support the overall growth of the venues.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Work with the ARC Restaurant Chef to execute flawless operations
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff, ensuring a positive, guest-centric environment
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback
  • Empower colleagues to resolve guest issues promptly

Revenue Generation:

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase revenue and profitability, collaborating with marketing on promotions and social events
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and strategies to meet financial targets, analyze reports, identify growth areas, and optimize sales
  • Implement cost control measures across food, beverage, labor, and operating expenses

Forbes and LQA Standards:

  • Uphold the highest standards of excellence as set by Forbes and LQA

Sustainability, Health, and Safety Compliance:

  • Participate in the Fairmont Sustainability Program and Food Safety Committee, and determine department-specific actions
  • Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe, clean environment for guests and staff, with best practices in food handling, sanitation, and safety

Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • Minimum of 3 years in senior management within a luxury restaurant or hotel
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Proven success in driving revenue and achieving financial targets
  • Strong knowledge of Forbes and LQA standards and a commitment to exceptional guest service
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of inspiring diverse teams
  • Attention to detail and high standards in restaurant operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, OpenTable, Opera, and Silverware
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills
  • Knowledge of local culinary trends
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred
