Job summary

Westburne is seeking an experienced SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Plant Maintenance (PM) consultant to join the team on a 6 to 9 month contract with possible extension. The role requires 5+ years in maintenance planning within mining or heavy industry, and CMMS/ERP implementation experience.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of maintenance planning experience in mining, mineral processing, heavy industry, or related environments.
  • Demonstrated experience using CMMS platforms is essential (SAP, Pronto, Maximo, JDE or similar).
  • Experience in ERP/CMMS implementation projects is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling best practices.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Create and maintain work packages including labor, materials, tools, permits, procedures, and durations.
  • Review maintenance backlog and prioritize with maintenance supervisors and operations.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules and constraints.
  • Support weekly and shutdown planning processes.
  • Maintain planning and scheduling KPIs such as schedule compliance and backlog health.
  • Ensure maintenance plans align with reliability strategies and equipment criticality.
  • Verify maintenance documentation and asset records are complete and accurate.
  • Support transition from existing maintenance systems to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Review and cleanse maintenance master data (equipment hierarchies, locations, BOMs, task lists).
  • Participate in development and review of maintenance business processes within SAP.
  • Execute UAT and integrated business process testing.
  • Support maintenance team members during system implementation activities.
  • Assist with cutover planning and go-live readiness assessments.
  • Provide hypercare and stabilization support after go-live.
  • Develop maintenance training materials, work instructions, and SOPs.
  • Deliver end-user training to planners, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.
  • Coach SAP users post-implementation and identify process gaps for data quality improvement.

Job description

Our Saskatchewan based client is seeking an experienced SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Plant Maintenance (PM) Consultant to join their team immediately and will run for 6 to 9 months with possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of maintenance planning experience in mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial, or related environments, along with a trade certification, engineering technologist diploma, engineering degree, or equivalent maintenance experience. Demonstrated experience using CMMS platforms such as SAP, Pronto, Maximo, JDE, or similar systems is essential, and previous participation in ERP or CMMS implementation projects is strongly preferred, as is experience supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT), business process testing, and system deployments. Additionally, a strong understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling best practices is expected. This role is based on site, operating on a 14 days on, 14 days off rotation.

  • Support maintenance team members throughout system implementation activities.
  • Assist with cutover planning and go-live readiness assessments.
