JMC is pleased to partner with De La Tour Co-operative to recruit a General Manager to lead operations in Lower West Pubnico, NS.
De La Tour Co-operative is much more than a place to shop. It is a trusted, community-focused organization serving local members and customers through a unique mix of grocery, hardware, lumber, feed, fuel, fisheries, lobster and bait operations.
With so many moving pieces, no two days look quite the same. One moment you may be reviewing financial results with the Board, and the next you may be solving an operational issue, checking in with employees or helping ensure customers have what they need. The Co-operative is looking for a capable, approachable and hands‑on leader who enjoys variety and wants to make a meaningful impact.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the General Manager will provide leadership across all areas of the Co-operative.
You will oversee daily operations, employees, finances, inventory, facilities, vehicles and equipment while ensuring each division runs safely, efficiently and with the high level of service the community has come to expect.
This is not a sit‑behind‑a‑desk kind of role. It is an opportunity to become a visible and trusted leader within the organization and the community. You will work closely with the Board, support employees across several areas of the business and help position the Co‑operative for continued success.
You are the kind of leader who notices what needs to be done and takes action. You can move comfortably between big‑picture planning and the everyday details that keep a business running.
You are approachable enough that employees and customers feel comfortable coming to you, but confident enough to make decisions and hold people accountable. You understand that strong leadership is built on trust, consistency and follow‑through.
Most importantly, you recognize that De La Tour Co‑operative is more than a business. It is part of the fabric of the community, and you are excited by the opportunity to help it remain strong, responsive and successful.
We thank all interested applicants, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
