Job summary

Sodexo Canada Ltd is seeking a General Maintenance Lead Building Services for our client site in Saskatoon, SK. This full-time role entails coordinating, planning, supervising and performing general building and facilities maintenance.

You will handle troubleshooting, painting, carpentry, plumbing and HVAC, manage vendors, oversee safety compliance and staff, and contribute to preventative maintenance programs while staying within budget.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a trade or equivalent certification.
• Power Engineering Level 4 certification at minimum or 5th class boiler/operator.
• 3+ years experience in preventative maintenance programs and general maintenance.
• 3-5 years experience with customer service for building clients/tenants.
• Experience with CMMS systems and Life Safety Fire Systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot problems and perform general building maintenance tasks.
• Paint, carpentry, basic plumbing/electrical and HVAC work.
• Source approved 3rd party vendors and manage work orders.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance across operations.

In your new role, you will coordinate, plan, supervise, and perform general building and facilities maintenance functions for your client site. Duties will include:

• Troubleshooting problems
• Perform necessary painting, carpentry
• Outdoor maintenance (snow removal, lawn care, etc.)
• Basic plumbing, electrical and HVAC experience
• You will sourceappropriate and approved 3rd party vendors, manages the work order system, creates efficiencies within processes, and ensures preventative maintenance programs on equipment and building systems are developed and implemented, including performing work themselves as required.
• You will propose maintenance-related recommendations to Sodexo leadership and/or clients, and prepares the related pricing/budget, then ensures the approved work is completed according to standards, within budget, and promptly.
• You will also supportcompletion of the contracted activities at the assigned sites.
• Safety, Quality, and Compliance
• Performregular safety audits and inspections, and ensures adherence to safety compliance, including the timely reporting and appropriate investigations of any incidents, accidents, and near-miss occurrences.
• Ensureconsistency within operations and compliance to all company and client policies and procedures as well as legislative requirements.
• Adheres to all Sodexo programs and actively works to find innovations and efficiencies within operations.
• Providereporting on safety and compliance items as required.
• Ensureregular safety training and meetings are being conducted.
• Ensureall safety compliance audits and logs are completed and recorded timely.

Employee Oversight / HR Management

• Supervises staff day-to-day which may include, but is not limited to, the following:
• Creates and maintains staff schedules ensuring appropriate coverage and backup,
• Oversees performance management (coaching, discipline)
• Coordinates training of staff
• Provides motivation and recognition

Health, Safety and Risk Management

• Participates and completes required training for this role per safety management system
  • Post-secondary education in a trade or equivalent certification.
  • You must possessPower Engineering Level 4certification at minimum or5th class: Boiler operator, heating plant operator, refrigeration plant operator.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in preventative maintenance programs and general maintenance
  • 3-5 years experience with customer service dealing with building clients and tenants or residents
  • CMMS systems
  • Life Safety Fire Systems experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading/supervising others
  • Reliable vehicle, Class 5 Drivers License
  • Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check
