About the Job

This role involves installing, monitoring, and maintaining electrical equipment, as well as assisting with general repairs and preventative maintenance across the hotel. Responsibilities include plumbing, heating, air conditioning, painting, wallpapering, carpentry, and general repairs.

Compensation

Starting wage is CA$22.50 during probation, increasing to CA$28.13 after probation, and further to CA$28.88 after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of general maintenance experience in a hotel or related industry
• Post-secondary technical degree or related certification
• Advantage: 4th Class or higher Operating Engineers License
• Effective communication skills with guests, employees, and management
• Strong organizational, computer, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds

Daily Tasks

• Repair electrical equipment in kitchens and guest rooms, including appliances and fixtures
• Assist with installation, maintenance, and repairs across various trades
• Install new electrical equipment and perform preventative maintenance
• Maintain safety and cleanliness in work areas, ensuring compliance with regulations
• Perform drywall fitting, painting, wallpapering, tile repair, furniture repair, and building tasks
• Build furniture such as partitions and shelves
• Maintain hotel equipment in good condition
• Handle heavy lifting and work in confined spaces as required
• Report malfunctions and maintain tools and equipment
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management
