Job summary

SECURE is hiring a General Labourer for our on-site team in Canada. You will handle day-to-day site duties in a safe, timely manner and help maintain a clean work area.

The role supports our metal recycling operations and requires a safety-first mindset and teamwork. We offer a full-time permanent position with opportunities to learn multiple tasks and grow with a company committed to safety and efficiency in Western Canada and the US.

Qualifications

• General labour experience is an asset.
• Experience working with metals is an asset, but training is available.
• Ability to follow SECURE’s Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
• Ability to complete safety documentation accurately and timely.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, shoveling, and moving heavy materials.
• Strong work ethic and ability to persevere in difficult weather conditions.
• Ability to adapt to weather/seasonal schedule changes.
• Daily fit-for-work readiness required.

Responsibilities

• Follow all SECURE safety policies and site requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings and risk assessments.
• Work well in a team environment.
• Sort ferrous material and identify different metals.
• Be trained on other positions as needed.
• Coordinate traffic and direct materials to proper areas.
• Maintain general site housekeeping.
• Report to supervisor or repair shop for needed work.
• Perform other related duties as required.

As our General Labourer you will be responsible for day-to-day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site

The Team

You will be part of a safety-first team where your contributions directly support efficient and sustainable metal recycling operations. Work Environment

This is a full time permanent position

A Day in The Life

• Ensure all SECURE safety policies and procedures are followed
• Be cognizant of and adhere to any site-specific safety requirements
• Partake in all safety related meetings including: daily tail gates, last minute risk assessment, etc.
• Work well in a team environment
• Responsible for sorting ferrous material, identifying different types of metals
• Willing to be trained on other positions
• Coordinate traffic and direct material to the proper area
• General site housekeeping
• Notify supervisor and or repair shop of any required work to be done
• Other related duties as required

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• General labour and or farm experience an asset, but not required
• Experience working with metals would be an asset, but we are willing to train
• Basic comprehension and ability to follow SECURE’s Workplace Health and Safety requirements relevant to the assigned work site, including but not limited to SECURE’s safety and hazard assessment process”
• Ability to complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials
• Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions
• Ability to manage weather and/or seasonal interruptions in work schedule
• Fit-for-Work each day
