Job summary

SECURE is seeking a General Labourer for our Red Deer, Alberta site. You will support day-to-day on-site duties, maintain a clean work area, and ensure safety policies are followed. The role operates Monday to Friday 8am–5pm with alternating Saturdays as required.

You will handle metal materials, operate basic equipment, and collaborate with the site team to meet on-site goals in a safety‑driven environment. A strong work ethic and weather‑resilient attitude are essential.

Qualifications

• Must follow SECURE safety policies and site rules
• Ability to operate and service small equipment (forklift, skid steer)
• Experience working with metals is an asset
• Ability to complete safety documentation accurately and on time
• Capable of lifting, shoveling, and moving heavy materials

Your Opportunity at SECURE

As our General Labourer you will be responsible for day-to-day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site

This position is located in Red Deer, Alberta

The Team

This position must also adhere to our safety program and work as a contributing member of the site team.

Work Environment

This is a full time permanent position, working Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm. Alternating Saturdays as required.

A Day in The Life

• Ensure all SECURE safety policies and procedures are followed
• Be cognizant of and adhere to any site‑specific safety requirements
• Partake in all safety related meetings including: daily tail gates, last minute risk assessment, etc.
• Work well with other workers
• Must be familiar with operating and servicing small equipment such as forklifts, skid steer, cut off saws, stationary baler
• Responsible for sorting non‑ferrous material, cutting material to size and packaging
• Willing to be trained on other positions
• Must have an understanding of all power and small tools
• Conduct pre‑operational checks on equipment
• Clean, lubricate and fuel all equipment and general site housekeeping
• Notify supervisor and or repair shop of any required work to be done
• Other related duties as required

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• General labouring and or farm experience an asset but not required
• Experience working with metals would be an asset but we are willing to train
• Basic comprehension and ability to follow SECURE’s Workplace Health and Safety requirements relevant to the assigned work site, including but not limited to SECURE’s safety and hazard assessment process”
• Ability to complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials
• Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions
• Ability to manage weather and/or seasonal interruptions in work schedule
• Certification in WHIMS, First Aid would be considered an asset
• Fit-for-Work each day
