Job summary

eCycle Solutions Inc in British Columbia is seeking a General Labourer Level 2 to support electronics dismantling and materials handling in a fast-paced environment. You will work with palletized and bulk waste, use air guns and basic hand tools, and help ensure safety and quality.

This role requires physical strength, attention to detail, and the ability to follow SOPs with strict health and safety standards. Training provided, opportunities to grow within a manufacturing/warehouse setting.

Qualifications

• Physical and mental effort required; ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) without assistance.
• Experience handling electronics and dismantling electronic waste.
• Able to read and carry out SOPs and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Unload and sort palletized and bulk electronic waste shipments; dismantle products safely.
• Use air guns and hand tools to dismantle equipment.
• Identify components and sort into correct material bins.
• Maintain clean, safe work area and remove packaging material during shifts.
• Communicate issues to supervisor to prevent delays or safety concerns.
• Meet daily/weekly production and efficiency goals while following safety policies.

Job purpose

A General Labourer Level 2 performs various tasks related to materials handling, electronics dismantling, re-packing as well as plant and equipment clean-up for lines that are more demanding (physical or mental efforts).

Duties and responsibilities

• Unload, tag, sort both palletized and bulk material shipments of electronic waste (eg. TV, monitors, computers etc), disassemble/dismantle waste electronic products quickly, accurately, safely and securely
• Use air guns and hand tools to dismantle electronic equipment
• Identify components from disassembly and sort into correct material bins
• Ensure work area remains clean and free of trash/debris throughout the work shift, including removal of plastic wrap/packaging material in the work centers
• Communicate all issues to the production supervisor and/or operations manager that could result in process delays or safety issues
• Work quickly and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of performance with quality production, security, and health & safety
• Ensure daily, weekly, monthly production and efficiency goals are accomplished
• Maintain strict adherence to eCycle policies, SOP’s, and safety procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Proven qualities to jobs requiring additional physical and mental efforts
• Demonstrated aptitude for handling and knowledge of electronics
• Manual labour as required- Must be able to lift 50 lbs (23 kg) without assistance and use a pallet jack
• Manufacturing or warehouse experience is preferred but not required
• Able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing/warehouse environment
• Demonstrate basic problem solving, effective communication skills, attention to detail, manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination
• Must be able to read and carry out instructions for S.O.P.s, and possess basic math skills
• Experience with manual and basic power tools, especially air guns
• Ability to wear PPE and adhere to all Health and Safety requirements
• Demonstrated high level of personal accountability, reliability, sense of urgency and attention to detail
• WHMIS, Health and Safety, First Aid training is an asset
