General Labourer

The General Labourer at the Cascadia Terminal performs various duties including housekeeping, tool use, lifting, carrying, and managing equipment and machinery. The role reports to the Operations Supervisor(s). A strong work ethic and attention to detail are essential.

The terminal operates 24/7 with shifts in day, afternoon, and night. The schedule typically involves 6 days on, 3 days off.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate duties with Operations Supervisors through effective communication.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently following company policies.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of pesticides and equipment, adhering to safety standards and participating in safety procedures.
• Report maintenance needs to relevant departments.
• Use hand and power tools properly.
• Load and unload materials.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on processing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of the facility and grounds, following ISO standards.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Adherence to workplace health and safety initiatives.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license preferred.
• Basic knowledge of the Canadian Grain Industry is an asset.
