Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a cafe associate to join our team. You will interact with customers in a friendly, service-oriented manner, observe purchases in the cafe line, replenish condiments and beverages, and maintain cleanliness of service areas.

You will also ensure sufficient silverware and operate equipment such as cash registers and coffee makers. You will restock refrigerators, stock impulse items, and collaborate with coworkers to meet service standards.

Qualifications

  • Interacts with customers in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Observes customer purchases and differentiates portions in cafe line.
  • Replenishes condiments, beverages and general supplies; maintains clean service areas.
  • Organizes seating areas and ensuring tables are wiped and ready for guests.
  • Ensures silverware sufficiency and polishes when needed, prioritizing customer service.
  • Operates equipment such as cash registers, calculators, coolers, coffee makers and drink machines.
  • Restocks refrigerator and coffee/tea services during and after operations.
  • Stocks impulse items and merchandise at stations as needed.
  • Works with coworkers to follow service standards and inventory/cash controls.
  • Delivers orders to designated floors during service hours.
  • Maintains workspace cleanliness and completes related cleaning duties.
  • Keeps HSQA records (temperature logs, time logs) as required.
  • Maintains stock levels in Micro-markets, including milk and cold beverages.

Job description

Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.   • Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Must have the ability to observe customer purchases in the cafe line and to differentiate between standard portions.
  • Required to replenish condiments, beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service areas.
  • Organizes the chairs within the seating areas and wiping all tables at the seating area
  • Ensure that all silverware is sufficient at the cafeteria and if not assist in polishing silverware when necessary, ensuring that customers are attended first.
  • Must be able to operate equipment such as cash registers, calculators, coolers, coffee makers, coffee grinders and drink machines.
  • Must replenish and restock refrigerator and coffee and tea services during and after operations.
  • Must in some cases stock services with Impulse items beverages and merchandise stations with add-ons.
  • Must interact with co-workers in order to assure compliance with company service standards, and company inventory and cash control procedures.
  • Must be able to deliver orders to designated floors during service hours
  • Ensuring cleanliness of workspace and surrounding area by performing cleaning duties in the café, not limited to stations.
  • Maintain all HSQA records, such as, hot and cold temp logs, time and temperature logs as per job requirements
  • Maintains stock levels of items within the Micro-markets, including but not limited to milk and cold beverages as required.
