Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a General Helper in Ottawa to prepare, present and serve meals, ensuring quality and presentation. You will dispense food for the next day, follow safety standards and rotate/ wrap food according to procedures.

Experience in Tim Hortons is considered a strong asset; you should be able to work in a fast-paced setting, assist with coffee preparation, and maintain excellent customer service and teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous Tim Hortons experience is an asset.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Coffee preparation and/or barista experience is preferred/required.
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiar with the use of a cash register is an asset.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be a team player.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Dispense food for next day of production and plate individual meals.
• Conduct work in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Perform general cleaning duties; remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Ability to work in various workstations including meal distribution area (packaging).
• Willing to learn skid wrapping of finished product.
• Food preparation and cooking as needed
