Job summary

Compass Group Canada is hiring a General Helper to assist in food preparation, presentation, and service across our facilities in Canada. You will dispense meals for production, ensure safety standards, and maintain proper food handling and portion control.

The role requires strong customer service, reliability, and the ability to work independently or in a team. English proficiency and physical ability to lift up to 40 lb are noted, with training provided on equipment and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Provide extensive, compassionate, and professional customer service at all times.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage workload.
  • Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required.
  • Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant, or fast food is considered an asset.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Minor heavy lifting may be involved (up to 40 lb.)
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
  • Accurately track production and waste records
  • Operate cash register within acceptable variance limits in accordance with company policy

The hourly wage rate for this position is $18.36. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. Further details regarding our total rewards offerings will be shared by the Talent Acquisition team during the hiring process. Canadian work experience is not a requirement for this role.
