Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a General Helper to support daily operations in a healthcare setting, performing cleaning, food preparation, serving meals, and dishwashing.

You will assist with housekeeping, food service setup/cleanup, tray delivery, and kitchen sanitation while following health and safety guidelines. Hiring is at competitive hourly rates with flexibility for team and independent work.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent.
• Previous housekeeping and food services experience is an asset.
• Experience in healthcare environment or long-term care setting preferred.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good command of English language, verbal and written, ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of residents' rooms and common areas.
• Assist with food preparation, set up and cleanup of chairs & tables, serving meals, delivering trays to residents, dishwashing and kitchen cleanliness.

How you will make an impact:

You will be responsible for supporting our daily operations with a wide range of tasks such as cleaning, food preparation, serving meals, and dishwashing.

As a General Helper, you will:

• Perform housekeeping duties such as maintaining the cleanliness of residents’ rooms and common areas.
• Assist with food preparation, set up and cleanup of chairs & tables, serving meals, delivering trays to residents, dishwashing and maintaining cleanliness of the kitchen.
• Perform duties according to health & safety guidelines, report all injuries and hazards to the supervisor immediately and other reasonable requests from management

About you:

• You must have a valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent
• Previous housekeeping and food services experience is an asset
• Previous experience in the healthcare environment or long-term care setting is preferred
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions

The hourly wage for this role is $16.50. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
