Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a General Helper to support meal preparation, plating, serving and ensuring quality and presentation across our sites in Canada. You will work under safety standards, handle cash, and assist with production records.

A positive attitude, reliability and strong English communication are essential. Successful candidates will have food service experience preferred, physical ability for up to 40 lb lifting, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in

Qualifications

• Provide extensive, compassionate, and professional customer service at all times.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage workload.
• Ability to work both independently and in team setting as required.
• Good command of English language, both verbal and written and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant, or fast food is considered an asset.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Minor heavy lifting may be involved (up to 40 lb.)
• Maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks
• Accurately track production and waste records
• Operate cash register within acceptable variance limits in accordance with company policy

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties; remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control.
• Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Ability to work in various workstations including meal distribution area (packaging).
• Willing to learn skid wrapping of finished product.
• Food preparation and cooking as needed.

The hourly wage rate for this position is $18.36. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
