Job summary

Arterra Wines Canada is seeking a General Farm Labourer for a seasonal full-time position in Niagara Falls. You will be responsible for a variety of vineyard tasks, from vine management to harvesting, requiring physical fitness and the ability to work in all weather conditions.

General Farm Labourer – Seasonal Full Time

Location: 4887 Dorchester Rd, Niagara Falls, ON L2E 6N8 (main office), production sites at Niagara‑on‑the‑Lake, ON L0S 1J0 and Lincoln/Jordan, ON L0R 1S0.

Compensation: $17.60–$20.70 per hour, depending on skill and duties performed.

Work Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week, available February to October.

Responsibilities

• Vine management: pruning, tying vines, replanting, watering, training, suckering, shoot thinning.
• Weed control: hoeing, weed trimming around posts and anchors.
• Canopy management: tucking, hedging, leaf removal, moving catch wire.
• Fruit management: bird, pest, and disease control, fruit thinning.
• Harvesting: placing bins, harvesting fruit, cane cutting, loading bins.
• Vineyard and trellis maintenance: repairing posts, anchors, wires, removing rocks, filling holes.
• General maintenance of headland.
• Operation of vineyard equipment and optional tractor or vehicle duties for trained candidates.

Qualifications

• Education not required.
• Experience is an asset; training provided.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Physical fitness: standing for long periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, navigating uneven terrain.
