Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods at 15350 Old Simcoe Rd., Port Perry, ON is accepting applications for an entry‑level General Cleaner in our Prepared Meats Plant, which specializes in baked goods such as quiche, meat pies, shepherd’s pies, dips, and breakfast bites.

Reliable and punctual individuals who can lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and follow food safety SOPs are encouraged to apply. Hours: Mon-Fri, rotating days/afternoons with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is not required.
• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Able to lift and move up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
• Willing to adhere to hygienic and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle, clean by prescribed methods and reassemble production equipment.
• General cleaning of all plant areas as required.
• Assist production operations as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of areas of responsibility.
• Adhere to SOPs for Product, Food Safety QA, and Health & Safety.
• Cross-training opportunities in other departments.

The Role

Maple Leaf Foods at 15350 Old Simcoe Rd., Port Perry, ON is accepting applications for entry‑level General Cleaner position within our Prepared Meats Plant which specializes in baked good products such as quiche, meat pies, shepherd’s pies, dips, and breakfast bites.

Reason for vacancy: Existing Headcount.

Duties May Include

• Chemical awareness
• Dismantling, cleaning by prescribed methods and reassembling of production equipment
• General cleaning of all plant areas as required
• Assisting production operation in any way as required
• Maintain cleanliness of areas of responsibility
• Cross‑training opportunities in other departments/job functions
• Adhere to Product, Food Safety Quality Assurance, and Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Hours Of Work

• Monday to Friday
• Rotating shifts (days/afternoons)
• Approximate shift times are: 7:30am -4:00pm, 4:00pm – 12:30am
• Occasional overtime opportunities
