Job summary

The Dunes Golf & Winter Club is seeking a hands-on General Manager / Business Manager to oversee the overall operations of the Club. This role combines business leadership, event management, financial oversight, marketing, sales and operational management.

The successful candidate will work closely with department leaders while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day business and events of The Dunes.

Qualifications

• Management experience in hospitality, golf, recreation or events.

• Proven event planning and client-management track record.
• Excellent organizational and project-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day business and operations of The Dunes.
• Work with department managers to ensure staffing, communication and service.
• Manage budgets, expenses, revenue opportunities and overall performance.
• Develop and improve operational systems, policies and SOPs.
• Manage tournaments, hosted events and club programs from inquiry to completion.
• Maintain the Master Event Calendar and coordinate cross-department activities.
• Oversee marketing, social media, website content and member communications.
• Develop event packages, sponsorships and revenue-generating opportunities.
• Maintain strong relationships with members, guests, clients, sponsors and partners.
• Support and coordinate Ladies Events, Junior Golf and other club programming.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day business and operations of The Dunes Work with department managers to ensure effective staffing, communication and service delivery
• Manage budgets, expenses, revenue opportunities and overall business performance
• Develop and improve operational systems, policies and SOPs
• Manage tournaments, hosted events and key club programs from inquiry through completion
• Maintain the Master Event Calendar and coordinate activities across departments
• Manage event clients, pricing, contracts, function sheets and event logistics
• Oversee marketing, social media, website content and member/guest communications
• Manage advertising and promotional spending
• Develop event packages, sponsorships and other revenue-generating opportunities
• Maintain strong relationships with members, guests, clients, sponsors and community partners
• Support and coordinate Ladies Events, Junior Golf and other Club programming
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service, programming and profitability

What We're Looking For

• Experience with marketing, sales and digital communications
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong judgment, initiative and problem-solving ability
• The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
• Experience in golf or club operations would be an asset.

This position requires flexibility based on Club operations and events.
