Job summary

Combined Metal Industries, Vaughan, Canada, is seeking a proactive General Accountant to drive full-cycle accounting across multiple Canadian and U.S. entities.

You will deliver accurate monthly statements, perform month-end close, reconcile ledgers, manage intercompany activity, and support tax compliance with diligence and integrity. You should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting, be pursuing CPA designation, and have 3–5 years of manufacturing accounting experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and working towards CPA designation.
  • 3–5 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Solid understanding of ASPE and month-end/year-end processes.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort with ERP/accounting systems.
  • Excellent English communication, written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for multiple entities.
  • Perform month-end close, GL journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Maintain fixed assets, capex registers, and depreciation entries.
  • Update loan payable/receivable schedules and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assist with intercompany transactions and eliminations across Canadian/US entities.
  • Support tax compliance, including HST/GST/PST and US sales tax filings.
  • Contribute to ERP/system implementation and process improvements.
  • Provide ad hoc analyses for management reporting and cash flow planning.
